BEHAG

          Behag is a hindusthani classical raga, often regarded as belonging to the Bilaval thaat, this is also regarded to belong to the kalyan thaat. This raga invokes a feeling of romance and celebration. This may be the reason for the raga to be performed widely during marriages. An evening melody Maru-Behag is a related raga to behag performed very widely across concerts. In the Carnatic style, Behag is considered to be the Janya raga of Dheera-ShankaraabharaNa. Owing to the mood it can invoke, Behag has a widespread use in the film industry.

DURGA


          Raaga Durga is a hindusthani classical raaga belonging to the Bilawal thaat, often associated with goddess Durga, this raaga is known to invoke bhakthi. 'Shuddha Saaveri' of the Carnatic style is equivalent to Durga of the hindusthani sytle. Shuddha Saaveri is also called as Devakriya in the Carnatic style. This is an Audava raaga and also a late night Melody and finds place in innumerable compositions in the entire film industry down south and in the north.

CHAARUKESHI


          Chaarukeshi is a Carnatic classical raga, also called as 'tarangiNi' in this style, It is also adopted into the hindusthani classical style and called as 'ChandramouLi', however it is more commonly known as Chaarukeshi. A sampoorna raga in the carnatic classical style, it is known to invoke feelings of bhakthi and Pathos. Few other ragas like Vaachaspati, GowriManohari, Naatakapriya etc. can be derived from this raga. There are opinions that listening to this raga even amidst a crowd can give a feeling to solitude.

BHOOP


          Bhoop is a hindusthani classical raga, also called as Bhupali, it is an audava raga, Bhoop belongs to the kalyan thaat. Mohana of the Carnatic classical style is the equivalent raga of Bhoop, the mood of this raga is gambheera and shaanta. Bhoop is an evening raga. In the carnatic style, Mohana is considered to be a derived scale of raga Harikambhoji. Perhaps one of the favorites for film music. Kannada film music has some of the most wonderful compositions based on bhoop.

HAMSADHWANI


          Hamsadhwani is a carnatic classical raga, an audava raga by nature, it is said to be the Janya raga of shankarabharana. Hamsadhwani is also present in the hindusthani classical style and used very prominently. It is supposed to be as sweet as the sound of the swan (hamsa). Many devotional songs are set to hamsadhwani, It is also a favorite raga for the film music composers all over India. There are quite a few melody tracks in the kannada film music based on raga hamsadhwani.

AHIR BHAIRAV


          Ahir Bhairav is a hindusthani classical raga, belonging to the bhairav thaat, this is a combination of a rare raga Ahir and the well known raga Bhairav. It is an early morning raga and an audava raga. Chakravaka of the carnatic classical style is the equivalent raga to Ahir Bhairav. BAIRAGI BHAIRAV


          Bairagi Bhairav is a hindusthani classical raga, belonging to the Bhairav Thaat, it is an audava raga predominantly performed in the early morning hours. Bairagi Bhairav is know for its many composition in praise of the lord of destruction - Shiva. In the carnatic classical style, raga Revathi is the equivalent of Bairagi Bhairav.
