DURGA

Raaga Durga is a hindusthani classical raaga belonging to the Bilawal thaat, often associated with goddess Durga, this raaga is known to invoke bhakthi. 'Shuddha Saaveri' of the Carnatic style is equivalent to Durga of the hindusthani sytle. Shuddha Saaveri is also called as Devakriya in the Carnatic style. This is an Audava raaga and also a late night Melody and finds place in innumerable compositions in the entire film industry down south and in the north.

Some of the melodious compositions based on Durga are listed below:

1. The subtle comedy track "Ide Raagadalli" from the movie 'ShraavaNa Bantu'

2. The philosophical "Koo Koo Enithide" from the movie 'Santha ShishunaaLa Sharifa'
