BHOOP

Bhoop is a hindusthani classical raga, also called as Bhupali, it is an audava raga, Bhoop belongs to the kalyan thaat. Mohana of the Carnatic classical style is the equivalent raga of Bhoop, the mood of this raga is gambheera and shaanta. Bhoop is an evening raga. In the carnatic style, Mohana is considered to be a derived scale of raga Harikambhoji. Perhaps one of the favorites for film music. Kannada film music has some of the most wonderful compositions based on bhoop.

Few of the well known compositions set to Bhoop are listed below:

1. The unforgettable melody "Naavaduva Nudiye" from 'Gandhada Gudi'

2. The refreshing "Ee Hasiru Siriyali" from 'Naagamandala'

3. Synonymous to the mood of the raga "Omkaarade" from the movie 'Nammoora Mandara Hoove'
