 PILU

Pilu is a hindusthani Classical style raga, belonging to the Kaafi thaat, or known to contain the kaafi facet, Pilu predominantly expresses calm and peace. Raga Pilu has the same counter part as pilu in the Carnatic classical style. Raga Pilu is an Audava-Sampoorna raga, being an evening melody, it is often seen incorporated into light classical styles like bhajans, thumris etc. Kannada film songs have some of the best compositions set to raga Pilu

Few melodies of kannada films set to raga Pilu are listed below

1. The evergreen "Endendu Ninnanu Marethu" from the movie 'Eradu Kanasu'

2. The yesteryear melody "Madhumaasa Chandrama"  from the movie 'Vijaya Vaani'

3. The hilarious "Gil gil gil gil gillak" from the movie 'Ratna Manjari'

These are a few, there are many more Jems
