CHAARUKESHI

Chaarukeshi is a Carnatic classical raga, also called as 'tarangiNi' in this style, It is also adopted into the hindusthani classical style and called as 'ChandramouLi', however it is more commonly known as Chaarukeshi. A sampoorna raga in the carnatic classical style, it is known to invoke feelings of bhakthi and Pathos. Few other ragas like Vaachaspati, GowriManohari, Naatakapriya etc. can be derived from this raga. There are opinions that listening to this raga even amidst a crowd can give a feeling to solitude.

Few of the well known compositions set to Chaarukeshi are listed below:

1. The epitome of Bhakthi "Haakida Janivaarava" from 'Santha Shishunala Sharifa'

2. The subtle comedy track "Bombeyaatavayya" from 'Shruthi Seridaga"

3. The unknown story teller "Entha Marulayya" from 'Spandana'

As usual the list is big, these are just a few.
